Landcare groups
Landcare groups are about local communities taking action to address environmental issues in their area. Common issues addressed by landcare groups include water quality, erosion, pest management and native vegetation decline.
So, if there are any environmental issues in your area that need addressing e.g. your local streams need to be protected from stock, or your waterways and lakes are degrading in quality, you and your school could think about starting a landcare group.
Or are there any landcare groups in your area already that your school could join? Find out more about landcare groups and how you can get involved by following this link to Environment Waikato.
Environmental Education
Environmental education is about providing information, tools and support so people can make choices that have less of a negative impact on the planet.
